Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including consecutive and non-consecutive days
- Ability to work three 12-hour shifts per week for full-time, two 12-hour shifts per week for part-time, or four 12-hour shifts per month for per diem
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays
- Ability to travel to up to three other ConvenientMD locations within a one-hour travel distance
- Required to travel for training shifts within a one-hour commute
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Proficient with relevant software systems
- Ability to provide compassionate patient service
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Proactive and confident written and verbal communicator
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Compassionate and patient focused
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Effective at establishing and maintaining positive relationships
- Strong team player with collaborative spirit
- Self-motivated with initiative and enthusiasm
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Trustworthy and able to maintain HIPAA confidentiality
- Medical receptionist certification (preferred)
- Experience in medical receptionist role or similar customer service (preferred)
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes (preferred)
- Experience with electronic medical records and HIPAA documentation (preferred)
- Experience with insurance billing and coding (preferred)
Job Duties
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Register patients efficiently, ensuring all required forms are completed accurately
- Handle insurance and billing inquiries, providing clear information to patients
- Collect payments including co-pays and prescription charges following clinic financial policies
- Manage patient reservations and walk-in registrations to optimize patient flow and provider schedules
- Assist in scheduling specialist referrals for patient follow-up
- Answer and direct phone calls in a professional and timely manner
- Maintain an organized and tidy reception area
- Perform administrative duties such as photocopying, filing and maintaining daily logs
- Navigate and utilize various software systems for scheduling and electronic medical records
- Request card on file and follow-up on patient balances to ensure timely payments
- Support ill or distraught patients with available resources
- Work collaboratively with healthcare team to ensure smooth clinic operations
