Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of medical office, healthcare, or customer service experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes preferred
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Greet patients, visitors, and vendors in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Register patients by verifying demographic, insurance, and contact information
  • Collect co-pays, outstanding balances, and provide receipts
  • Schedule, confirm, and update patient appointments in the electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Obtain and verify insurance authorizations, referrals, and eligibility as required
  • Answer multi-line phones, direct calls, and relay messages promptly
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
  • Prepare, organize, and update patient charts and documentation
  • Support office operations including filing, scanning, faxing, and correspondence
  • Communicate effectively with clinical staff, billing, and management to support patient care
  • Assist with resolving patient inquiries regarding registration, billing, and scheduling
