Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in a medical administrative role preferred
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures
- Experience with medical office record-keeping
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced setting
- Capability to maintain strict patient confidentiality
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED equivalent preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing practices
- Familiarity with workers’ compensation billing information
- Proficient in obtaining and maintaining accurate medical office records
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks without direct supervision
- Strong multitasking skills in a busy healthcare environment
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Experience with EHR and EMR systems preferred
- Team player with willingness to assist others when needed
Job Duties
- Answer phones and manage front desk reception
- Receive patients and visitors and sign in/out patients
- Verify insurance and workers' compensation information
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurances
- Manage patient charts and perform general filing and clerical duties
- Register patient appointments and input data into EMR system
- Counsel patients concerning their accounts and issue receipts
- Retrieve and file medical records and respond to requests for patient records
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming waiting room
- Ensure availability of registration and HIPAA forms according to office protocol
