Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least one year of experience in a medical office preferred
- Ability to greet patients and answer telephone pleasantly
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely
- Ability to read, understand and follow instructions
- Ability to sort and file materials correctly
- Ability to key data accurately into medical computer systems
- Ability to balance charges and payments with reports at the end of the day
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least one year of experience in a medical office preferred

- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a clinical team
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

- Proficient in practice management and electronic health record systems
- Ability to balance financial transactions accurately
Job Duties
- Greet, instruct, direct and schedule patients and family members
- Assist patients with appointment scheduling to meet their needs
- Help patients select a primary care clinician emphasizing continuity of care
- Handle prescription requests and medical chart information
- Schedule referrals and ensure insurance referrals are made if required
- Answer telephone calls and direct them to appropriate parties
- Collect co-payments and deductibles at time of service
- Post CPT and ICD-9 codes and associated charges/payments accurately
- Balance charges and payments with end-of-day reports
- Prepare daily deposits
- Coordinate care with other clinical team members
