Job Requirements
- Driver's license must be active and valid upon hire and for the duration of employment
- Experience working in a medical office setting preferred
- Ability to learn and follow office procedures and protocols
- Strong communication skills including grammar spelling and verbal communication
- Ability to handle confidential patient information appropriately
- Proficiency in computer and office equipment usage
- Ability to work flexible hours including rotating Saturdays
- Physical ability to sit stand lift up to 10 pounds use manual dexterity reach above shoulder height
- Willingness to travel up to 15%-20% to other office locations as required
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associate procedures policies and protocols
- Proficient grammar spelling and verbal skills to communicate with patients providers and staff in written documents
- Ability to read comprehend follow oral and written instructions
- Knowledge of computer and medical terminology desired
- Ability to interact effectively and supportively with staff and maintain a professional working relation
- Provide excellent customer service greet and receive patients visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Maintain professional and excellent phone skills and etiquette able to speak clearly and concise
- Use good judgment and maintain patient confidentiality
- Able to file alpha and numerically
- Experience using computer system scanner printer fax etc
Job Duties
- Check in patients upon arrival including updating demographics insurance information PCP pharmacy collect co-pays and patient balances provide consents for signature and appropriate health questionnaires
- Check out patients collect additional balances provide visit summary specialist referral information patient portal information completed forms and follow-up appointments
- Verify patient insurance through Batch Eligibility or on demand contact patients whose insurance is not active or PCP is not appropriate
- Post patient charges and payments complete charge and payment reconciliation
- Scan and upload documents in Document Management system
- Sort and deliver mail and PA documents received by courier maintain clean work area and patient waiting area
- Participate in staff and educational meetings
