Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in medical receptionist or administrative role
  • Proficient with EPM and EHR systems
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to travel between locations
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently

Job Qualifications

  • Experience with patient check-in and check-out processes
  • Knowledge of insurance benefits and copayment collection
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records management
  • Ability to educate and assist patients with Patient Portal enrollment
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer and office equipment proficiency

Job Duties

  • Provides support with the daily activities at the front desk including check-in, check-out and ICS management
  • Travels to other locations as needed
  • Completes check-in/registration process including entering patient information, confirming insurance eligibility, collecting copayments, preparing electronic encounters, and enrolling patients in Patient Portal
  • Completes check-out/discharge process including providing appointment details, patient education, entering meaningful use data, forwarding precertification requests, and reconciling daily collections
  • Auto enrolls patients onto the practice's Patient Portal and educates them on its benefits
  • Provides daily schedule to clinical staff
  • Scans and files patient documents daily
  • Retrieves and forwards messages from Call Center Triage
  • Answers calls and responds to inquiries from the call center
  • Documents all phone calls, faxes, incoming mail, and patient interactions requiring assistance
  • Assists medical personnel with returning messages
  • Maintains patient referral information and forwards referral documents
  • Sorts mail and handles fax requests
  • Greets and directs patients, visitors, and salespeople
  • Contacts and reschedules no-show appointments
  • Forwards precertification and insurance verification requests
  • Maintains confidentiality and orderly work environment
  • Orders and maintains office supplies
