The opportunity at ProHealth Physicians is for a full-time Medical Receptionist, primarily located at 1445 Boston Post Rd, Guilford, CT. The position involves working a Monday through Friday schedule with an eight-hour shift between 7:15 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. The Medical Receptionist plays a crucial role as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring smooth patient experience by managing check-in and check-out processes, scheduling appointments, and handling patient inquiries through telephone and electronic health records. This role requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities including payment collection and maintaining demographic data. Candidates may be asked to float to other local practices within the region to cover staffing needs, reflecting a team-oriented and flexible work environment.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or higher
  • 1 years of receptionist or customer service experience
  • intermediate level of computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • ability to float to local practices in the region for coverage depending on business need

Job Duties

  • Conduct check-in and check-out process
  • answer incoming calls and use EHR to document details of patient inquiries
  • conduct outreach to patients requiring appointments or service follow-up
  • schedule appointments using standard scheduling protocols
  • manage administrative in-basket pools and work queues
  • scan documents into the EHR per standard protocols
  • balance payments and prepare deposits
  • protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal and financial information
  • provide coverage at other ProHealth locations on an ad hoc basis
  • perform other duties as assigned
