Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Active and valid driver’s license upon hire and for the duration of employment
- Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associates procedures, policies, and protocols
- Proficient grammar, spelling, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow oral and written instructions
- Knowledge of computer and medical terminology desired
- Ability to interact effectively and support staff
- Provide excellent customer service and greet patients and visitors professionally and friendly
- Maintain professional phone skills and etiquette
- Use good judgment and maintain patient confidentiality
- Ability to file alpha and numerically
- Experience using computer system, scanner, printer, fax etc
- Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods
- Ability to lift or carry up to 10 pounds
- Ability to use personal protective equipment
- Willingness to travel 15-20% to other office locations as needed

Job Duties
- Check in patients upon arrival including updating demographics, insurance information, PCP, pharmacy, collect co-pays and patient balances, provide consents for signature and appropriate health questionnaires
- Check out patients, collect additional balances, provide visit summary, specialist referral information, patient portal information, completed forms, and follow-up appointments
- Verify patient insurance through Batch Eligibility or on demand
- Contact patients whose insurance is not active or PCP is not appropriate
- Post-patient charges and payments, complete charge and payment reconciliation
- Scan and upload documents through the Document Management system
- Sort and deliver mail and PA documents received by courier
- Maintain a clean work area and patient waiting area
- Participate in staff and educational meetings
