Job Duties
- Regular travel to satellite locations
- complete check-in and registration process including patient information entry and insurance eligibility verification
- collect and post copayments
- prepare electronic encounters in EPM and EHR for billing and clinical use
- confirm referring physicians and obtain meaningful use criteria
- enroll patients in Patient Portal and educate them on its benefits
- complete check-out and discharge processes including appointment scheduling and patient education
- reconcile daily collections and forward fee tickets to billing staff
- provide daily schedules to clinical staff
- scan and file patient documents daily
- handle call center messages and respond to inquiries
- document all phone calls, fax submissions, incoming mail, and patient interactions
- assist medical personnel with patient message returns
- maintain referral source communication by submitting new referring physicians and update patient charts
- manage mail and fax requests
- greet and direct patients, salespeople, and visitors
- reschedule no-show appointments and assist with scheduling conflicts
- manage on-demand precertification and insurance verification requests
- maintain confidentiality of released information
- maintain clean and organized work and waiting areas
- order and manage office supplies
