Job Requirements
- Minimum of 16 years of age required
- ability to provide a high level of customer service
- ability to work professionally with physicians, clinic staff and patients in a timely, confidential manner
- analytical, prioritization and organizational skills
- flexibility and dedication to a team environment
- effective communication skills
- ability to commit to three consecutive weeks of full-time daytime training
- willingness to work full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- capability to work in-person at Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha
- ability to handle fast-paced, high-volume work environment
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 16 years of age required
- demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer service to physicians, patients and other internal/external customers required
- ability to work professionally with physicians, clinic staff and patients in a timely, confidential manner required
- demonstrated analytical, prioritization and organizational skills required
- demonstrated flexibility and dedication to team environment required
- effective communication skills required
- high school education or equivalent preferred
- one year post-secondary education with coursework in business, medical assistant program or nursing assistant program OR equivalent combination of education/experience in customer service or medical scheduling related capacity (one year of education equals one year of experience) preferred
- Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant preferred
- knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel preferred
- fluency in Spanish preferred depending on position available
Job Duties
- Serve as the first point of contact by greeting and welcoming patients and others in person at the check-in desk or via the telephone
- answer incoming calls in a professional manner
- check in and check out patients following established protocols
- schedule patient appointments
- register patients and obtain demographic, insurance, and regulatory information
- pre-register patients over the phone
- collect point-of-service payments
- escort and provide wayfinding for patients
- cross-train and float to other desks as required
- work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while meeting productivity and quality metrics
