Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Active and valid driver’s license upon hire and during employment
  • Ability to learn and follow Pediatric Associates procedures, policies, and protocols
  • Proficient grammar, spelling, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of computer and medical terminology is desired
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships and provide excellent customer service
  • Strong phone etiquette and clear communication skills
  • Good judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to file records alphabetically and numerically
  • Experience with office technology including computers, scanners, printers, and fax machines

  • Ability to file alphabetically and numerically
  • Experience using computer systems, scanners, printers, fax machines

Job Duties

  • Check in patients upon arrival, including updating demographics, insurance information, PCP, pharmacy, collect co-pays and patient balances, and provide consents and health questionnaires for signature
  • Check out patients, collect additional balances, provide visit summary, specialist referral information, patient portal information, completed forms, and follow-up appointments
  • Verify patient insurance through Batch Eligibility or on demand and contact patients whose insurance is not active or PCP is not appropriate
  • Post patient charges and payments and complete charge and payment reconciliation
  • Scan and upload documents through the Document Management system
  • Sort and deliver mail and PA documents received by courier and maintain a clean work area and patient waiting area
  • Participate in staff and educational meetings
