Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • active and valid driver’s license
  • ability to learn and adhere to Pediatric Associates policies and procedures
  • excellent communication skills including grammar, spelling, and verbal abilities
  • computer literacy and familiarity with medical terminology desired
  • capacity to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
  • ability to handle patient-facing duties
  • physical ability to stand and sit as required
  • ability to lift or carry up to 10 lbs
  • willingness to rotate work between office and remote settings
  • availability to travel 15-20% to other office locations as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • active and valid driver’s license
  • ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associate procedures, policies, and protocols
  • proficient grammar, spelling, and verbal communication skills
  • ability to read, comprehend, and follow oral and written instructions
  • knowledge of computer and medical terminology desired
  • ability to interact effectively and support staff maintaining professional working relationships
  • provide excellent customer service and greet patients and visitors professionally
  • maintain professional phone skills and etiquette
  • use good judgment and maintain patient confidentiality
  • ability to file alpha and numerically
  • experience using computer systems, scanners, printers, and fax machines

Job Duties

  • Check-in patients upon arrival including updating demographics and insurance information
  • collect co-pays and patient balances
  • provide consents for signature and appropriate health questionnaires
  • check out patients and collect additional balances
  • provide visit summary, specialist referral information, patient portal information, completed forms, and follow-up appointments
  • verify patient insurance status through Batch Eligibility or on demand
  • contact patients with inactive insurance or inappropriate PCP
  • post patient charges and payments
  • complete charge and payment reconciliation
  • scan and upload documents through Document Management system
  • sort and deliver mail and PA documents received by courier
  • maintain a clean work area and patient waiting area
  • participate in staff and educational meetings
