Job Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Active and valid driver’s license upon hire and throughout employment
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with rotating Saturdays
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to organizational information security policies
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, reaching, lifting up to 10 lbs, manual dexterity
  • Ability to work in patient-facing indoor environments
  • Strong communication skills and customer service orientation

Job Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Ability to learn and practice Pediatric Associates procedures, policies, and protocols
  • Proficient grammar, spelling, and verbal skills to communicate with patients, providers, and staff
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of computer and medical terminology desired
  • Ability to interact effectively, support staff, and maintain professional working relationships
  • Excellent customer service skills with professional and friendly demeanor
  • Maintain professional phone skills and etiquette, speak clearly and concisely
  • Use good judgment and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Must be able to file alphanumerically
  • Experience using computer systems, scanners, printers, and fax machines

Job Duties

  • Check in patients upon arrival, update demographics, insurance information, PCP, pharmacy, collect co-pays and patient balances, provide consents for signature and health questionnaires
  • Check out patients, collect additional balances, provide visit summaries, specialist referral information, patient portal information, completed forms, and schedule follow-up appointments
  • Verify patient insurance through Batch Eligibility or on demand, contact patients with inactive insurance or inappropriate PCP
  • Post patient charges and payments, complete charge and payment reconciliation
  • Scan and upload documents through the Document Management system
  • Sort and deliver mail and Pediatric Associates documents received by courier, maintain a clean work area and patient waiting area
  • Participate in staff and educational meetings
