Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or valid work permit if aged 15-17
- 1-2 years experience in a medical or physician office or customer service environment preferred
- understanding of insurance verification
- excellent written, verbal and face-to-face communication skills including phone etiquette
- proficient in patient care procedures and organizational policies
- service-oriented and responsive to customer needs
- proficient in operating Windows-based computer systems and EMR software
- ability to perform mathematical calculations
- knowledge of medical terminology
- ability to work collaboratively in a team
- ability to handle confidential information
- good organizational and time management skills
- ability to exercise sound judgement
- ability to drive to other office sites and training locations
- successful completion of competency-based program within training period
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Greets all individuals arriving at the office courteously and ensures their needs are met
- obtains necessary patient registration information, verifies insurance eligibility, prepares charts, and notifies clinical staff of patient arrival
- accurately completes patient forms, collects payment, and posts charges to billing system
- retrieves and files EMR and paper charts
- answers telephone following office etiquette and relays messages timely
- schedules and confirms appointments based on office protocols
- assists with clinic reschedules and communicates with leadership regarding overbooks
- sends out new patient paperwork via appropriate channels
- works daily Work Queue
- may balance daily payment and charge posting
- supports overdue report management and patient outreach
- maintains neatness of work and waiting areas
- attends meetings and training
- performs other duties as assigned
