Job Requirements

  • Must be high school graduate or GED
  • completed training program in Medical Office Assisting preferred
  • minimum two years healthcare experience preferred
  • must possess valid driver's license
  • bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
  • must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and push up to 50 pounds
  • must be able to hear and speak clearly
  • must be able to read memos, computer screens, clinical and administrative documents
  • must have high manual dexterity
  • must be able to bend, squat, sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, kneel, twist and turn
  • able to work flexible or extended hours
  • adhere to rules of confidentiality

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED
  • completed training program in Medical Office Assisting from accredited college preferred
  • two years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • possess a valid driver's license
  • bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • able to build and maintain rapport with patients and providers
  • customer-service oriented
  • familiar with adult learning and training techniques
  • positive professional insight
  • flexibility and dependability
  • good problem-solving skills
  • effective leadership and supervisory skills
  • knowledgeable in modern office practices including email
  • intermediate computer skills
  • attention to detail and excellent follow-through
  • able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Job Duties

  • Provides prompt clerical support
  • promotes smooth patient flow
  • collects and records data accurately
  • maintains order of the front office, equipment and supplies
  • achieves organizational mission to provide health care access
  • communicates consistently with supervisor and staff
  • works flexible or extended hours
  • participates in health center in-services and meetings
