Job Requirements
- High school diploma preferred
- post-high school vocational or specialized training encouraged
- typing speed of at least 45 words per minute
- data entry proficiency
- ten-key by touch
- prior experience with billing, scheduling, and general office duties in a clinic setting
- familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare safety protocols
- friendly, courteous, and customer-focused with a team-oriented mindset
Job Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience in a medical office or clinic setting
- strong multitasking and time-management skills
- professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills
- experience with Epic electronic health records system is a plus but not required
- familiarity with insurance verification procedures
Job Duties
- Greet visitors and check in patients in a courteous and efficient manner
- answer phone calls and schedule patient appointments using the clinic's computer system
- coordinate transportation needs and communicate special patient requirements with appropriate staff
- manage patient charts and documentation including entering patient charges accurately
- support billing operations including completing and submitting insurance claims, managing account balances, and resolving billing discrepancies
- prepare daily reports and monitor account statuses to ensure timely billing and follow-up
- collaborate with medical records and administrative teams to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information
- perform other related administrative and clerical tasks as assigned
