Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • post-high school vocational or specialized training encouraged
  • typing speed of at least 45 words per minute
  • data entry proficiency
  • ten-key by touch
  • prior experience with billing, scheduling, and general office duties in a clinic setting
  • familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare safety protocols
  • friendly, courteous, and customer-focused with a team-oriented mindset

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of experience in a medical office or clinic setting
  • strong multitasking and time-management skills
  • professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills
  • experience with Epic electronic health records system is a plus but not required
  • familiarity with insurance verification procedures

Job Duties

  • Greet visitors and check in patients in a courteous and efficient manner
  • answer phone calls and schedule patient appointments using the clinic's computer system
  • coordinate transportation needs and communicate special patient requirements with appropriate staff
  • manage patient charts and documentation including entering patient charges accurately
  • support billing operations including completing and submitting insurance claims, managing account balances, and resolving billing discrepancies
  • prepare daily reports and monitor account statuses to ensure timely billing and follow-up
  • collaborate with medical records and administrative teams to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information
  • perform other related administrative and clerical tasks as assigned
