Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong typing skills
  • Some experience in reception or administrative work
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work under stress
  • Professional appearance and positive disposition

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Experience in reception or administrative roles preferred
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology helpful
  • Good typing skills and personal computer proficiency
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly
  • Positive attitude and professional appearance
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Welcomes patients and their loved ones when they come for appointments
  • Answer phone calls and emails from patients, medical team, providers, and vendors
  • Maintains office schedule for staff members
  • Files medical records and other documents into the electronic medical record
  • Keeps front desk and office organized and running smoothly
  • Scheduling appointments and follow-ups for patients
  • Assists ill or distraught patients, as necessary, telephones omnibus or family members for patient transportation if needed
  • Collect and process patient payments
  • Assists patients with filling out forms and answering their questions
  • Ensure patients have the correct information in their chart, example: address, phone number, insurance
  • Uses medical office software and other technology to keep information organized and up to date
  • Maintains a working relationship with medical team and other medical offices or departments
  • Provides coverage and attends training at other Primary Care locations as directed
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
