Job Requirements

  • Completion of high school or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum one year of customer service experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in a medical office environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Reliable and punctual

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of customer service experience or interaction with the public
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

Job Duties

  • Greet incoming patients and visitors providing congenial and hospitable customer service
  • Refer patients and visitors to appropriate departments or resources
  • Notify appropriate resources of patients and visitors arrival in a timely manner
  • Assure patient demographics and eligibility are correct
  • Receive and forward telephone calls and relay messages per protocol
  • Register new patients and schedule appointments for providers and services
  • Reschedule appointments and follow up on cancelled and missed appointments
  • Collect co-pays and balances and make follow-up appointments as necessary
  • Respond to patient and visitor questions in a timely and appropriate manner using knowledge of organizational policies
  • Communicate with other departments, team members, physician offices, and hospital as needed for information, follow-up, or problem resolution
  • Perform various clerical duties including operating office machines, ordering supplies, and managing mail
  • Assist with medical records and clinical personnel as needed
  • Maintain work and waiting areas neat and professional
  • Perform special projects as assigned
  • Adhere to all standards, policies, and procedures of the organization
