Job Description

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum one year of experience in customer service or reception
  • Preferably experienced in a medical practice setting
  • Ability to perform word processing and basic computer functions
  • Completion of a Medical Terminology course is an advantage
  • Familiarity with Epic system preferred

Job Duties

  • Welcomes patients, clients, visitors and directs them to appropriate departments
  • Phones or pages employees to assist patients and visitors
  • Facilitates patient flow and communicates delays
  • Follows all safety and security policies
  • Screens solicitors for relevance
  • Explains financial requirements and collects payments
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of reception and waiting areas
  • Provides directions and office contact information
  • Updates insurance information in the system
  • Communicates patient concerns to management
  • Reports system problems promptly
  • Ensures patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Uses customer service principles to handle patients calmly
  • Schedules follow-up appointments
  • Performs other duties as assigned
