Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience in healthcare operations, customer service, or similar role preferred
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Office and EMRs
- ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA
- capability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
- physical ability to sit, stand, bend, talk, hear, walk, and lift or move objects up to 25 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
- 1+ years of experience in healthcare operations, customer service, or similar role preferred
- strong communication skills both written and verbal
- proficiency in Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records (EMRs)
- ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in compliance with HIPAA
- ability to multitask and prioritize duties
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Duties
- Create a positive work environment
- support in-office clinician and staff engagement activities
- conduct schedule prep process for all patients
- ensure all paperwork and documentation is complete
- maintain accurate patient demographics
- prepare patient charts
- perform general office duties including sorting mail, scanning documents, managing e-faxes and shared office email
- communicate effectively with peers, clinicians, and patients
- provide exceptional customer service
- respond quickly and appropriately to patient needs
- manage front desk responsibilities including greeting and checking patients in and out
- support patients with phone, email, and portal inquiries related to payment, billing, scheduling, and releases
- manage phone system queues and ensure timely call responses
- assist patients with telehealth access and troubleshooting
- handle urgent requests and triage patient issues
- collect co-payments and account balances
- complete insurance eligibility verification and resolve issues
- provide general clinician support including administrative assistance
- coordinate with clinicians on patient questions
- audit clinician schedules for accuracy
- maintain a pleasant and motivational working environment in the practice
