Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • preferably associates or bachelor's degree
  • minimum 1 year experience in healthcare operations or customer service preferred
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR systems
  • ability to maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA
  • multitasking and prioritization abilities
  • ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • capability to lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds
  • acceptable vision including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and focus adjustment
  • ability to sit, stand, walk and communicate clearly

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • associates or bachelor's degree preferred
  • at least 1 year experience in healthcare operations or customer service preferred
  • strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (EMRs)
  • ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in compliance with HIPAA
  • strong multitasking and prioritization skills
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Create a positive work environment
  • be a culture carrier and support in-office clinician and staff engagement activities
  • conduct schedule prep process ensuring paperwork, credit card info, demographics and patient charts are accurate
  • perform general office duties including mail sorting, scanning, e-faxes, email management and office upkeep
  • communicate effectively with peers, clinicians and patients
  • provide exceptional customer service and manage difficult or sensitive patient situations
  • manage front desk responsibilities including greeting and checking patients in and out
  • support patients with payment, billing, scheduling, release requests and miscellaneous inquiries via phone, email, and portal
  • manage phone system queues to ensure timely call responses
  • assist patients with telehealth access and Patient Portal troubleshooting
  • handle urgent requests by triaging and escalating as needed
  • collect co-payments and account balances
  • complete insurance eligibility verification and resolve issues with patients
  • provide general clinician support with administrative tasks such as sending letters and faxes
  • coordinate with clinicians on patient questions
  • audit clinician schedules for appointment accuracy
  • maintain a pleasant, secure and motivational working environment
