Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • at least three years experience in front desk or customer service related field
  • strong computer skills including internet, spreadsheet, and word processing software
  • ability to handle multiple tasks and solve problems efficiently
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • professional demeanor with tact and respect for others
  • reliable and able to follow through on commitments
  • willingness to perform annual competencies and other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • one-year certificate from college or technical school with concentration in front office support for medical settings preferred
  • at least three years experience in a front desk or customer service related field
  • experience in a medical office preferred
  • strong computer skills including internet, spreadsheet, and word processing software
  • knowledge of medical practice software is a plus
  • knowledge of medical record filing, coding systems, and medical terminology preferred

Job Duties

  • Organizes and maintains a filing system for patient charts
  • answers telephone and responds to inquiries or directs calls appropriately
  • schedules appointments and enters them into computerized scheduler
  • conducts reminder calls to patients
  • greets and directs patients, salespeople, and visitors
  • registers patients by verifying and updating records
  • coordinates patient referrals through insurance and other physician offices
  • prepares billing in computerized system for processing
  • collects payment from patients and reconciles daily cash reports
  • looks for ways to improve and promote quality
  • identifies and solves problems in a timely manner
  • demonstrates exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
  • conducts self with professionalism and tact
  • follows through on commitments
  • may require other duties as assigned
