Job Requirements

  • One year of experience in a medical office
  • knowledge of healthcare regulations and HIPAA compliance
  • experience with electronic medical records
  • familiarity with medical billing and insurance verification
  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • strong organizational skills
  • ability to work rotating weekends and weekends as needed
  • reliable commute or plan to relocate to Hurst or Southlake, TX

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of experience in a medical office
  • previous experience as an optometric technician or similar role preferred
  • working knowledge of electronic medical records
  • understanding of healthcare regulations including HIPAA
  • knowledge of medical billing, insurance verification, and collections
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • strong organizational abilities
  • ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Job Duties

  • Manage emails, phone calls, text messages, faxes, and mail
  • greet patients and check them into appointments
  • schedule appointments and confirm patient visits
  • check patients out after appointments
  • verify medical and vision insurance benefits
  • create invoices and manage medical billing
  • sell contact lenses and collect payments at point of service
  • assist physicians with documenting patient history and pressure checks
  • conduct optometric imaging and assist with contact lens fittings
  • perform opening and closing duties for the clinic
  • report daily clinic metrics
