Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months experience as a medical assistant
- Or completion of medical assistant, emergency medical technician, nurse assistant, licensed practical nurse or armed services medic program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC) or Canadian equivalents for clinics with Rural Health Designation within 6 months of hire
- Eligible for $2,000 sign-on bonus
- Available to work full-time schedule from 8 AM to 4:30 PM
- No weekend or on-call work
- Ability to perform patient care and administrative duties
- Must comply with established policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months experience as a medical assistant or completion of related programs such as emergency medical technician, nurse assistant, licensed practical nurse or armed services medic program
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through AAMA preferred
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through AMT preferred
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
- Experience with electronic medical records
- One year experience working in medical office with multiple providers
- Previous experience in medical office of same specialty preferred
Job Duties
- Provide excellent patient care by performing or assisting in medical procedures
- Take vital signs and assist with examinations
- Administer injections and perform venipuncture
- Greet patients and answer phone calls directing callers appropriately
- Manage patient registration and schedule appointments
- Collect insurance co-pays and deductibles
- Verify insurance information
- Record financial activity and account for transactions during shifts
