Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent substitute
  • Minimum experience: 2 years
  • combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience
  • CPR and first aid certification required
  • Experience with EMR, MS Word, Excel, MS Outlook
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Professional demeanor and communication always
  • Must be organized and attentive to detail
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Resourcefulness in problem solving
  • Able to take and follow through with assigned tasks and accountability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • CMA/RMA preferred
  • Experience with EMR, MS Word, Excel, MS Outlook

  • Participates in center and market interdisciplinary teams related to patient care plans and outcomes
  • Preferred qualifications: Experience working with an electronic health record
  • Experience performing toenail clipping/trimming
  • Experienced in wound dressing
  • Medical office setting experience highly desirable
  • Experienced working in medically underserved/culturally diverse communities
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of ICD-20 and CPT coding
  • Bilingual Spanish

Job Duties

  • Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc., and document all information in patient's electronic health record
  • Interview patients to obtain their medical history
  • Ensure all related reports, labs and information are filled out and available in patients' electronic health records prior to their appointment
  • Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records, keeping patient information confidential
  • Prepare exam rooms for patient examinations
  • Assist physician or onsite specialist in exam rooms
  • Assist primary care physicians in executing virtual appointments in patients' home
  • Disinfect, clean exam rooms following patient examinations
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following Sage Health policy and procedures, complying with legal regulations
  • Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required
  • Properly dispose of contaminated supplies
  • Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock

  • Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e., refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, etc.)
  • Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
  • Make calls to pharmacy, diagnostic facilities, etc., as required by the primary care physician or onsite specialist
  • Draw blood, remove sutures, change dressings
  • Perform other duties as assigned
