Job Requirements
- Medical assistant certification required
- One year of medical assisting or direct clinical patient care experience
- Ability to obtain certification within 60 days if recently graduated
- Ability to obtain certification within one year if uncertified at hire
- Full-time availability Monday through Friday days
- No night, weekend, holiday, or on-call shifts
Job Qualifications
- One year of medical assisting or direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting
- Medical assistant certification required (RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NRCMA, or ABR-OE credentials acceptable)
- Recent graduates from medical assisting training program must obtain certification within 60 days of employment
- Candidates/incumbents without certification must obtain it within one year of hire date
Job Duties
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies including sterilization
- Administer injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy
- Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals
- Answer telephone calls to the practice and screen for referral
