Job Requirements

  • Medical assistant certification required
  • One year of medical assisting or direct clinical patient care experience
  • Ability to obtain certification within 60 days if recently graduated
  • Ability to obtain certification within one year if uncertified at hire
  • Full-time availability Monday through Friday days
  • No night, weekend, holiday, or on-call shifts

Job Qualifications

  • One year of medical assisting or direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting
  • Medical assistant certification required (RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NRCMA, or ABR-OE credentials acceptable)
  • Recent graduates from medical assisting training program must obtain certification within 60 days of employment
  • Candidates/incumbents without certification must obtain it within one year of hire date

Job Duties

  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies including sterilization
  • Administer injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy
  • Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals
  • Answer telephone calls to the practice and screen for referral
