Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Medical assisting program completion or certification strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with HMO insurance carriers
  • Ability to perform clinical procedures and patient triage
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Completion of a medical assisting program or certification from an accredited trade school strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Athena EMR CPT and ICD-10 coding is a plus
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build professional compassionate rapport with patients
  • Proficiency in typing and computer use with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multitask adapt and thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Perform patient triage and assessments including taking and recording vital signs
  • Assist physicians with clinical office procedures and diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
  • Provide patient education instructions and follow-up care as directed
  • Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate medication logs
  • Coordinate scheduling and pre-certification for imaging tests such as CT MRI PET scans
  • Maintain and update patient charts records and physician dictations
  • Manage patient calls messages and follow-up communication in a timely manner
  • Ensure exam rooms and work areas remain clean safe and well-stocked
  • Support lab and X-ray procedures if certified
  • Monitor and order medical supplies as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the physician or practice manager
