Job Requirements
- graduation from an accredited medical assisting program or twelve months of direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting or current medical assistant certification
- candidates without certification must obtain certification within one year of hire date
- ability to work monday through friday day shift with no nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call duties
- capability to perform clinical tasks such as injections, phlebotomy, and patient preparation
- strong organizational and communication skills
- commitment to patient-centered care
Job Qualifications
- graduation from an accredited medical assisting program or twelve months of direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting or current medical assistant certification
- medical assistants without certification must obtain certification within one year of hire date
- clinical medical assistant certification within 60 days of employment for recent graduates
- active and unrevoked RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, or NCRMA certification preferred
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- take patient histories and vital signs
- prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies
- administer injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy
- assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physical exams
- answer telephone calls and screen for referrals
- maintain sterilization and cleanliness of treatment areas
- support efficient patient flow and documentation
