Job Requirements
- Customer service experience working directly with customers
- Ability to read, understand, and accurately prepare recipes
- Ability to adjust recipes to produce required portions
- Use portion control to maintain flavor, appearance, and cost containment
- Follow written and oral instructions
- Meet all schedules and assignments
- Organize work and work area to complete assigned duties accurately and quickly
- Accurately use measuring equipment and utensils
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures and requirements in hospital and food service areas
- Knowledge of diets, diet terminology, and dietary abbreviations or ability to learn these
- Willingness and ability to work variable shifts including graveyard, weekends, and holidays
- Successful completion of criminal background check and compliance with mandated reporting policies
Job Qualifications
- Customer service experience

- Understanding of diets, diet terminology, and dietary abbreviations
- Ability to accurately use measuring equipment and utensils
- ServSafe or Food Handler Card preferred
- Experience in large volume cooking preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare food items according to recipe specifications
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment
- Prepare food for various service areas such as trayline, cafeteria, grill, deli, and catering
- Use portion control to maintain flavor, appearance, and cost containment
- Follow written and oral instructions accurately
- Meet all schedules and assignments
- Organize work area to complete duties efficiently
