Job Requirements
- Customer service experience working directly with customers
- read, understand, and accurately prepare recipes
- correctly adjust recipes to produce required portions
- use portion control to maintain flavor, appearance, and contribute to cost containment
- follow written and oral instructions
- meet all schedules and assignments
- organize work and work area to complete assigned duties accurately and quickly
- accurately use measuring equipment and utensils
- knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures used in hospitals and food service areas
- knowledge of diets, diet terminology, and dietary abbreviations or ability to learn
- willingness to work variable shifts including graveyard, weekends, holidays
- ability to rotate to various units, buildings, and areas
- successful completion of criminal background check and compliance with mandated reporting policies
Job Qualifications
- Customer service experience working directly with customers

- skill in correctly adjusting recipes to produce required portions
- knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures used in hospitals and food service areas
- understanding of diets, diet terminology, and dietary abbreviations or ability to learn
- prior experience in food preparation techniques
- Servsafe or Food Handler Card preferred
- experience in large volume cooking preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare food items according to set recipe specifications in a clean, safe, and sanitary environment
- manage service areas such as trayline, cafeteria, cafeteria grill, deli, and catering
- set up and prepare food service items to meet department standards
- use portion control to maintain flavor, appearance, and cost containment
- follow written and oral instructions to complete assignments
- organize work area to complete duties accurately and quickly
- ensure safety and sanitation compliance in all food preparation and service activities
