The City of St. Louis is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Mechanical Maintenance Technician at St. Louis Lambert International Airport. This role is a full-time, permanent position offering an annual salary range between $44,356 and $64,298. Employees meeting the minimum experience and training requirements begin at $44,356 annually, while those who have successfully completed a bona fide apprenticeship program registered with the Department of Labor and attained journeyman status start at $50,050 annually. Job Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis
- Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application and be able to present it upon request
- Must be available to work varying shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
- A ten year background investigation will be conducted in accordance with FAA regulations for positions at St. Louis Lambert International Airport
Job Qualifications
- Three years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining high and low pressure steam boilers and pumping systems, air handling equipment or other related mechanical equipment
- Completion of a skilled trades training program in HVAC or plumbing may substitute for two years of the required experience
- An equivalent combination of training and experience
- Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license during employment
Job Duties
- Repair and clean HVAC coils and boilers
- Maintain and repair pumps, air handling equipment including changing filters, servicing lines, pressure reducing stations, air curtains, valves, cooling towers and large steam pipe mains
- Work on ladders and catwalks in and around various heights and confined spaces
- Repair mechanical equipment for high and low pressure power plant equipment such as boilers, auxiliaries, pumps, air compressors, steam piping, valves, and related HVAC systems
- Install equipment such as boilers, air handlers, exhaust fans, plumbing fixtures, motors, pumps, filter tanks, radiators, chillers, compressors, valves, piping, fittings, sewer systems
- Occasionally weld, braze and cut metal using electric and gas welding and cutting equipment to fabricate, maintain and repair metal objects on city equipment, pipes, structures
- Pour and finish concrete
- Perform routine electrical repairs
