Job Requirements

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • basic knowledge of math, weights and measures
  • dependable and reliable
  • perform other related duties as assigned
  • outgoing and friendly behavior

  • ability to interact with customers
  • ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
  • good communication skills
  • ability to take direction and work in a team environment
  • perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the department
  • adhere to safety, health, weights and measures regulations and company recipes
  • capable of standing for up to 4 hours continuously and 8 hours per shift
  • able to work inside a temperature controlled area
  • possess good vision for using sharp knives and tools
  • able to lift and carry products between 25 to 90 lbs
  • able to use a pallet jack
  • able to move racks and tables of products requiring significant physical effort
  • able to walk up to 2 miles per 8-hour shift

Job Duties

  • provide high level of customer service
  • practice safe food handling procedures
  • maintain product knowledge and preparation techniques
  • receive, store, and grind meats
  • unload and transport fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery truck
  • count and weigh incoming articles and compare results against invoice
  • examine meats in storage and rotate meats to avoid aging
  • assist customers with questions and special orders
  • follow Clean as You Go and Fresh at 4 programs
  • adhere to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department
