Job Duties
- Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service
- Establish and maintain a safe, clean environment encouraging customers to return
- Achieve sales and profit goals established for the department
- Control all established quality assurance standards
- Monitor all functions, duties, and activities related to the Meat department
- Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety
- Communicate company, department, and job-specific information to associates
- Establish department performance goals and empower associates to meet/exceed targets through teamwork
- Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume
- Train and develop associates on job performance and participate in performance appraisals
- Create a welcoming environment for customers, answer product questions, and make suggestions
- Inform customers of produce specials and offer product samples
- Review and inspect products for quality and freshness, taking appropriate action
- Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve results
- Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management
- Educate associates about current and upcoming in-store promotions
- Prepare and submit seasonal sales and merchandising critiques
- Implement the periodic promotional plan for the department
- Assist in preparing store/department budget, expense control, and profit and loss reviews
- Schedule price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs
- Plan and organize inventory process, maintain inventory awareness, and train associates on inventory/Computer Assisted Ordering
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and logged
- Reinforce safety by complying with procedures, inspecting equipment, reporting accidents and unsafe conditions
- Report safety risks, illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- Perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
