Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand or walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
  • Capability to use hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Ability to perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions
  • Willingness to work with FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • Tolerance to work in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in wet and cold environments
  • Competence in handling knives and cutting equipment safely
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Ability to operate tools and equipment including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery

Job Qualifications

  • No prior retail experience required
  • Ability to sell proactively
  • Ability to learn basic product knowledge in department
  • Ability to visually examine products for freshness and quality
  • Ability to read and understand product labels
  • Ability to assist with inventory checks
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with team members, customers, and vendors
  • Ability to meet customer service standards

Job Duties

  • Ensures fresh and appealing display by checking quality, maintaining cleanliness, rotating and removing out-of-date products, filling ice tables
  • Maintains back stock organization and product availability
  • Assists with sampling program by keeping sample areas full, clean, and appealing
  • Cleans cases, glass, signs, coolers, smokers, floors, and drains as required
  • Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • Provides excellent customer service, addresses customer needs timely, and models suggestive selling techniques
  • Maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • Follows established procedures including health and safety, sanitation, Weights and Measures compliance
  • Maintains clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • Performs opening, mid, and closing duties ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing
  • Reports safety hazards and violations promptly
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leadership
