Job Requirements
- No prior retail experience required
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand or walk 6-8 hours during an 8-hour shift
- Hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- Ability to handle temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to work in wet and cold environments
- Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment
- Willingness to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters and electric pallet jacks
Job Qualifications
- Ability to sell proactively
- Basic knowledge of all products carried in department
- Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness
- Ability to read labels and familiarize oneself with products
- Assists with periodic inventory checks
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully to team members, customers, and vendors
- Ability to meet customer service expectations
- Ability to follow directions and manage time effectively

- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of and compliance with Whole Foods Market quality goals
Job Duties
- Ensures fresh and appealing display by checking quality and rotating out-of-date products
- Maintains back stock in good order
- Assists with sampling program, keeping sample areas full and clean
- Cleans cases, glass, signs, coolers, floors, and drains as required
- Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed and ready to work
- Provides excellent customer service and models suggestive selling techniques
- Maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising
- Follows and complies with health, sanitation, and safe work practices
- Performs opening, mid, and closing duties and ensures accuracy of signage and pricing
- Reports safety hazards and violations immediately
- Performs other duties as assigned by leadership
