Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Standing or walking for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour shift
  • Hand use involving single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Work motions including bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • Exposure to temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in wet and cold environments
  • Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to use tools and equipment such as box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery

Job Qualifications

  • No prior retail experience required
  • Ability to sell proactively
  • Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried in department
  • Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness
  • Ability to read labels and familiarize with various products
  • Ability to assist with periodic inventory checks
  • Ability to deliver information clearly and respectfully to team members, customers, and vendors
  • Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors, and team members
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures
  • Effective time management and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Ensure fresh and appealing display by checking quality, keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked, rotating and removing out-of-date products, filling ice tables, and performing other duties as assigned
  • Maintain back stock in good order
  • Assist with sampling program by keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing
  • Clean cases, glass, signs, uprights, coolers, smokers, floors, and drains as required
  • Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • Work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings
  • Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs timely and effectively, and model suggestive selling techniques
  • Answer phones and pages promptly and courteously
  • Maximize sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising of product
  • Follow and ensure compliance with established procedures including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment, and equipment in accordance with cleanliness and safety standards
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • Ensure accuracy of signs and pricing
  • Immediately report safety hazards and violations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership
