Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- one to three months related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- valid State Food Handlers Permit
- valid Driver's License or State ID
- ability to operate meat department equipment safely
- strong communication skills
- ability to follow written and oral instructions
- ability to stand for prolonged periods and perform physically demanding tasks
- compliance with safety, sanitation, and food handling regulations
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- willingness to work assigned shifts regularly
- adherence to company values and guest service standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or one to three months related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- reads and comprehends simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- writes simple correspondence
- communicates effectively and pleasantly with guests, vendors, and fellow associates
- performs mathematical skills using American money, weight, and volume measurements
- applies common sense to carry out instructions and manage standardized problems
- meets state minimum requirements to work with slicers and other seafood/meat equipment and tools
- holds valid State Food Handlers Permit
- holds valid Driver's License or State ID
- completed Yoke's provided training including Active Shooter, Meat/Seafood Skills Training levels one, two and three, Food Handler's Safety Training, HIPAA Training, Late Night Retail Safety Training, Yoke's Safety Orientation Training, and optional Hepatitis A vaccination
Job Duties
- Reporting for assigned shifts on time and providing excellent service
- promoting sales through active guest discussions and product recommendations
- providing guest service by greeting guests and informing them of product features and services
- understanding and performing various meat processing tasks including grinding, seasoning, slicing, packaging, and managing product inventory
- operating meat and seafood department equipment safely and properly
- completing assigned tasks from supervisory staff
- mentoring new associates and fostering a positive learning environment
- ensuring compliance with all safety, sanitation, and food handling regulations
- participating in the department's accident reduction plan including cleaning, sanitizing, and safety practices
