Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must provide documentation to work legally in the United States
- Food Handler’s Certificate required by date of hire or within 5 scheduled shifts
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times per day
- Ability to work in wet, humid, hot, and cold kitchen environments
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, talk, and hear regularly
- Use of proper personal protective equipment such as cutting gloves, back support belt, goggles, and gloves when handling chemicals
- Flexible to work varied shifts including early mornings and weekends
- Follow safety procedures and use restaurant safety words during shifts
Job Qualifications
- Basic knife skills
- Food Handler’s Card
- Ability to read, understand, and follow the Employee Handbook and company policies and procedures
- Proper dress policy adherence and wearing non-slip shoes at all times
- Positive and professional attitude
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and late nights, 7 days a week including holidays
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
Job Duties
- Receiving the meat from the vendor, taking care to check the quality of each item
- Butchering and prepping the meat in accordance with Din Tai Fung’s procedures
- Labeling all items in accordance with Health Department regulations and Din Tai Fung procedures
- Keeping all kitchen areas clean and sanitized
- Organizing items within the walk-in coolers and freezers
- Lifting/moving boxes, bags, chairs, and tables (up to 50 pounds)
- Assisting with regular deep cleaning of the kitchen
- Cutting and preparing the produce in accordance with Din Tai Fung’s standard cutting sizes and procedures (must be comfortable using a knife and cutting glove)
- Maintaining confidentiality regarding all proprietary information, including but not limited to recipes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
