Job Requirements

  • Valid ServSafe Food Safety Certification maintained in good standing
  • Ability to stand and move frequently on hard surfaces
  • Capability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly with occasional heavier lifting assistance
  • Ability to work in refrigerated and damp conditions between 30 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Safe operation of meat-cutting equipment and sharp tools
  • Willingness to be exposed to cleaning agents and raw meat products

Job Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in meat department operations, retail, or food service
  • Strong knowledge of meat cutting, handling, and food safety regulations
  • Ability to analyze sales and operational data to drive performance improvements
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, and email
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must maintain all training and required certifications

Job Duties

  • Lead meat department operations including preparation, cutting, packaging, and merchandising of fresh meat products
  • Oversee meat production processes such as slicing, weighing, packaging, and labeling of meats and prepared foods
  • Execute operational functions including meat cutting, trimming, and preparation to company standards
  • Manage inventory levels proactively to ensure product availability and timely replenishment
  • Ensure accurate item labeling and pricing in compliance with company policies
  • Track and analyze sales, waste, and shrink data to identify process improvements
  • Maintain sanitation, safety, and food handling compliance including proper maintenance of equipment
  • Report operational concerns like equipment malfunctions or food safety risks to management
  • Execute proper FIFO product rotation to minimize waste
  • Conduct regular quality and expiration date checks on products
  • Implement seasonal promotions, merchandising initiatives, and special event displays
  • Support club-wide initiatives such as inventory audits and shrink control
  • Conduct daily inspections of meat cases, coolers, and freezers to ensure safe conditions
  • Assist with receiving and inspecting meat shipments
  • Support inventory audits and reconciliation efforts
  • Monitor handling and display of cooked meat products
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance
