Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in meat department or food service
  • Valid ServSafe Food Safety Certification
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to stand and move frequently on hard surfaces
  • Capability to safely lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally heavier with assistance
  • Comfortable working in refrigerated, damp conditions (30-40 degrees Fahrenheit)
  • Ability to safely operate meat-cutting equipment and sharp tools
  • Willingness to maintain all required training and certifications
  • Open availability including weekends

Job Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in meat department operations, retail, or food service
  • Strong knowledge of meat cutting, handling, and food safety regulations
  • Ability to analyze sales and operational data for performance improvement
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, and email
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must maintain all training and required certifications

Job Duties

  • Lead meat department operations including preparation, cutting, packaging, and merchandising of fresh meat products
  • Oversee production processes such as slicing, weighing, packaging, and labeling of meats, cheeses, and prepared foods
  • Execute operational functions including cutting, trimming, and preparing meat per company standards
  • Manage inventory proactively by monitoring levels and replenishing stock
  • Ensure accurate pricing and labeling compliance
  • Analyze production, sales, waste, and shrink data to identify improvement opportunities
  • Maintain sanitation and safety compliance including food handling and equipment cleanliness
  • Report operational concerns to management
  • Execute proper product rotation following FIFO procedures
  • Conduct quality and date checks for product freshness and safety
  • Implement seasonal promotions and merchandising initiatives
  • Support club-wide initiatives including inventory audits and shrink control
  • Perform daily case, cooler, and freezer inspections
  • Assist with receiving and inspection of meat shipments
  • Support inventory audit and reconciliation processes
  • Monitor proper handling and display of cooked meat products
  • Ensure product quality assurance standards are met
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance to support operations and leadership coverage
