Job Requirements

  • Valid ServSafe Food Safety Certification required and maintained
  • Ability to stand and move frequently on hard surfaces
  • Regular lifting of up to 30 pounds with occasional heavier lifting assistance
  • Exposure to refrigerated and damp conditions between 30-40 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to safely operate meat-cutting equipment and sharp tools
  • Potential exposure to cleaning agents and raw meat products

Job Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in meat department operations, retail, or food service
  • Strong knowledge of meat cutting, handling, and food safety regulations
  • Ability to analyze sales and operational data for performance improvements
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, and Email
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must maintain all training and required certifications

Job Duties

  • Lead meat department operations overseeing preparation, cutting, packaging, and merchandising of fresh meat products
  • Oversee production process including slicing, weighing, packaging, and labeling meats, cheeses, and prepared foods
  • Execute operational functions such as cutting, trimming, and preparing meat to company standards
  • Manage inventory proactively by monitoring levels and timely replenishment
  • Ensure accurate item labeling and compliance with company policies
  • Analyze production and sales data to identify improvement opportunities
  • Maintain sanitation and safety compliance including ServSafe adherence
  • Report operational concerns related to equipment, stock, or safety
  • Execute proper product rotation using FIFO procedures
  • Conduct quality and date checks to uphold food safety
  • Implement seasonal promotions and merchandising initiatives
  • Support club-wide initiatives like inventory audits and shrink control
  • Conduct routine inspections of meat cases and refrigeration units
  • Assist with receiving and inspection of meat shipments
  • Support inventory audits and reconciliation efforts
  • Monitor handling and display of cooked meats
  • Assure product quality and freshness
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Maintain regular, predictable full attendance
