Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Six months to one-year related experience and/or training
  • Physical ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds frequently
  • Ability to stand or sit for eight hours at a time
  • Ability to walk and use hands for handling meat and tools
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Six months to one-year related experience and/or training
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Strong attention to detail in cutting and trimming meat
  • Knowledge of meat products and preparation techniques
  • Ability to communicate clearly with customers and team members
  • Physical ability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the company

Job Duties

  • Cuts, trims, and bones carcass sections or prime cuts to reduce to cooking cuts such as roasts, steaks, chops, stew cubes, and grinding meat
  • Works out by products assuring nothing gets old
  • Breaks veal and lamb
  • Cuts and weighs steaks and chops for individual servings
  • Shapes and ties roasts, fills showcase once the meat has been cut
  • Receives, inspects, and stores meat upon delivery
  • Informs the Meat Manager on the status of stock especially the shortage of items
  • Provides information to customers about all the cuts of lamb, pork, beef, poultry, and types of sausage, convenience items, and self-serve items
  • Prepares convenience items for the showcase including kabobs, stir-fry, stuffed items, and marinated items
  • Provides customers with information regarding the preparation of products in the showcase
  • Learns Assistant Manager job responsibilities for consideration of future advancement
