Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Six months to one year related experience or training
  • Ability to physically lift and move up to 100 pounds
  • Availability to stand for long periods

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Six months to one year of related experience and/or training
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Strong knowledge of meat cuts and preparation techniques
  • Good customer service and communication skills
  • Leadership experience or potential to supervise a small team optionally
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the company

Job Duties

  • Cut, trim, and bone carcass sections or prime cuts to prepare cooking cuts such as roasts, steaks, chops, stew cubes, and ground meat
  • Work out by-products such as lamb necks, riblets, and veal products to ensure freshness
  • Break down whole veal and lamb carcasses
  • Cut and weigh steaks and chops for individual servings
  • Shape and tie roasts, and fill the meat showcase once the meat is cut
  • Receive, inspect, and store meat upon delivery
  • Inform the Meat Manager about stock status, especially shortages
  • Provide customers with information about various cuts of lamb, pork, beef, poultry, and sausage types
  • Prepare convenience items including kabobs, stir-fry, stuffed items, and marinated items for the showcase
  • Provide customers with tips on preparation of showcase products
  • Learn Assistant Manager job responsibilities for future advancement consideration
