Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of professional meat cutting or butchery experience
  • experience managing financial goals within a similar environment
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • capability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel and squat
  • ability to push, pull and maneuver heavy loads
  • able to work in fast-paced environment
  • must stand during workday
  • willingness to work in environments of extreme cold or heat
  • availability for periodic travel
  • strong communication and leadership skills

Job Qualifications

  • 2-3 years minimum experience as a professional meat cutter or butcher
  • 2-3 years minimum grocery retail experience within the meat department preferred
  • proven success managing shrink, sales, gross profit and department overhead
  • understanding of food safety, sanitation and proper equipment use
  • knowledge of meat and seafood varieties and cuts
  • OSHA ServSafe certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Training and development of team members
  • supervising and participating in meat and seafood production
  • ordering and receiving deliveries
  • scheduling and managing sales and shrink reports
  • maintaining merchandising standards
  • ensuring cleanliness and sanitation of department
  • conducting inventory and controlling expenses
