Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years of professional meat cutting or butchery experience
- experience managing financial goals within a similar environment
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- capability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel and squat
- ability to push, pull and maneuver heavy loads
- able to work in fast-paced environment
- must stand during workday
- willingness to work in environments of extreme cold or heat
- availability for periodic travel
- strong communication and leadership skills
Job Qualifications
- 2-3 years minimum experience as a professional meat cutter or butcher
- 2-3 years minimum grocery retail experience within the meat department preferred
- proven success managing shrink, sales, gross profit and department overhead
- understanding of food safety, sanitation and proper equipment use
- knowledge of meat and seafood varieties and cuts
- OSHA ServSafe certification preferred
Job Duties
- Training and development of team members
- supervising and participating in meat and seafood production
- ordering and receiving deliveries
- scheduling and managing sales and shrink reports
- maintaining merchandising standards
- ensuring cleanliness and sanitation of department
- conducting inventory and controlling expenses
