Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- valid driver's license
- clean driving record
- ability to drive in all types of weather
- ability to lift up to fifty pounds
- prior experience in health or social services preferred
- ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
- willingness to work temporary on-call schedule
- basic record keeping skills
- patience and emotional maturity
- ability to respond to emergency situations
- knowledge of local geographic areas
Job Qualifications
- knowledge of basic health care practices
- knowledge of personal care techniques and transferring abilities
- understanding of needs and problems of disabled, elderly and low-income individuals
- familiarity with available community services
- knowledge of geriatrics
- knowledge of health codes relating to assigned area
- safe driving techniques including traffic and safety rules
- knowledge of routine vehicle maintenance
- understanding of geographic area in and around Flagstaff, Page, or Williams, AZ
- skill in record keeping
- proper lifting techniques
- ability to operate vehicle in adverse weather conditions
- ability to effectively handle lifting of up to fifty pounds
- capacity to maintain patience in adverse situations
- demonstration of emotional maturity
- ability to react to client crises appropriately
- ability to handle and record cash and check donations
- application of basic safety methods for staff and client
- ability to recognize and report patient health status
- ability to work with culturally diverse populations
- ability to recognize hazardous driving conditions
- ability to work safely and support workplace safety culture
- ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- effective verbal and written communication skills
Job Duties
- provides assistance to eligible clients which may include household duties, chores and errands in the community, transporting passengers to appointments
- reports unusual circumstances or problems observed with clients
- may handle small amounts of money for client shopping and laundry
- may handle donations
- may provide social and emotional support and services as an advocate for recognized client needs
- drives vehicle safely under various weather conditions
- communicates effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders
