Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Possess and maintain a valid New Mexico driver's license
  • Successfully complete the post-offer employment medical examination
  • Subject to pre-employment and random drug testing
  • Comply with safety guidelines of the County
  • Ability to operate and maintain multi-passenger vehicles
  • Ability to work variable hours
  • Willingness to work outdoors in natural weather conditions

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in driving multi-passenger vehicles is preferred
  • Ability to follow federal food service program guidelines
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions
  • Basic first aid and CPR skills or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation

Job Duties

  • Transport seniors to and from meal sites, senior centers, appointments, and field trips
  • Pick up and return vehicle to the County yard or designated facility
  • Fuel, clean, and inspect the van
  • Assist with setup and coordination of meals at senior sites
  • Deliver meals to homebound seniors
  • Pick up and deliver supplies and equipment as needed
  • Substitute for drivers or site supervisors during absences
  • Arrange transportation for special events and operate a multi-passenger vehicle
  • Attend department meetings as assigned
  • Deliver and serve meals at assigned summer lunch sites
  • Ensure all food service activities follow federal program guidelines
  • Maintain safety and order at assigned sites
  • Enforce rules and site policies
  • Support setup and cleanup of lunch areas
  • Assist with basic maintenance tasks
  • Maintain required written records and documentation related to food service delivery and compliance
  • Handle sensitive or confidential records, plans, or decisions requiring strict confidentiality
