Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • at least one year of experience in a medical office preferred
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to work well within a team
  • ability to organize and manage competing priorities
  • skill in multi-tasking without displaying stress
  • ability to use practice management and electronic health record systems
  • ability to handle financial transactions accurately
  • capable of standing, walking, and sitting intermittently
  • able to lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • exposure to blood, body fluids, or infectious materials
  • ability to work variable hours including possible weekends and holidays
  • excellent interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum of one year experience in a medical office strongly preferred

  • proficient in managing multiple priorities and problem-solving

Job Duties

  • Greet, instruct, and schedule patients and family members
  • assist patients in selecting a primary care clinician ensuring continuity of care
  • handle prescription requests accurately
  • manage medical chart information and schedule referrals with other physician offices
  • ensure insurance referrals are made if required
  • answer telephone calls and direct them to the appropriate party
  • collect co-payments and deductibles at the time of service
  • accurately post CPT and ICD-9 codes and associated charges and payments in the computer system
  • balance end-of-day reports and prepare daily deposits
  • coordinate care with other clinical team members to provide exceptional patient service
  • maintain professionalism and pleasant demeanor at all times
