Job Requirements

  • At least one year of medical office experience strongly preferred

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one year of experience in a medical office strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Practice Management System and Electronic Health Record system
  • Strong patient-centered focus

  • Ability to work as part of a clinical team
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Good problem-solving and judgment skills
  • Ability to greet patients pleasantly and answer phones clearly

  • Ability to key data accurately into medical computer system
  • Ability to balance charges and payments

Job Duties

  • Greet, instruct, direct and schedule patients and family members
  • Work with patients to schedule appointments that best meet their needs
  • Assist patients with selection of a primary care clinician
  • Handle prescription requests and medical chart information accurately
  • Schedule referrals and ensure insurance referrals are made if required
  • Answer telephone and direct calls to appropriate parties
  • Collect co-payments and deductibles at time of service
  • Post CPT and ICD-9 codes with associated charges and payments
  • Balance daily transactions and prepare deposits
  • Coordinate care with clinical team members
