Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least one year of experience in a medical office strongly preferred
- Strong patient-centered focus
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a clinical team
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public
- Ability to organize and manage competing priorities
- Ability to problem solve and demonstrate good judgment
- Skill in greeting patients and answering telephone in a pleasant manner
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely
- Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to accurately key data into medical computer systems
- Must be able to balance charges and payments with end of day reports
- Ability to manage intermittent standing, walking, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
- Exposure to infectious materials and healthcare environment conditions
- Willingness to work variable hours including weekends, holidays and on-call as needed

Job Duties
- Greet, instruct, direct and schedule patients and family members
- Work with patients to schedule appointments that best meet their needs
- Assist patients with selecting a primary care clinician emphasizing continuity of care
- Handle prescription requests and manage medical chart information accurately
- Schedule referrals with other physician offices and ensure necessary insurance referrals are made
- Answer telephone calls and direct them to appropriate parties
- Collect co-payments and deductibles, accurately post CPT and ICD-9 codes, balance daily financial reports, and prepare daily deposits
