Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Class C Texas Driver’s License
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing
- Preferred experience in shipping, receiving, sorting, and distributing furniture, supplies, or equipment
- Preferred experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, dolly
- Preferred experience driving panel truck and cargo van
- Preferred experience pulling trailer
- Ability to lift, pull, push, or carry 50 pounds
- Ability to perform minor building maintenance tasks
- Ability to travel locally and statewide including overnight stays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in shipping, receiving, sorting, and distributing furniture, supplies, or equipment preferred
- Experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies preferred
- Experience driving panel trucks and cargo vans preferred
- Knowledge of motor vehicle operations and safety
- Ability to understand and use agency computer systems like CAPPS and CAFM
- Basic building maintenance skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
Job Duties
- Drive state agency trucks and cargo vans to deliver and pick up equipment, furniture, and supplies
- Provide mail pickup and delivery services within HHS offices
- Perform safe loading, unloading, and cargo handling
- Evaluate and select cost-effective delivery routes
- Conduct minor vehicle repairs en route
- Maintain vehicle logs including mileage and maintenance records
- Perform warehouse duties such as receiving, inspecting, and distributing packages
- Document receipt of purchased items using CAPPS Financial system
- Operate motorized warehouse equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks
- Monitor and maintain inventory stock levels
- Assemble, install, and adjust furniture and equipment
- Perform minor building repairs and routine maintenance
- Assist with office moves and oversee contractor activities
- Serve on Regional Disaster Deployment Team delivering and setting up emergency equipment and supplies
